ArcGIS StoryMaps Workshop
Explore the art of storytelling with spatial data and communicate your research through interactive maps and visual narratives.
Learn how to organize and develop compelling scientific narratives
Learn how to effectively present and explain spatial data to diverse audiences
Learn how to integrate maps, images, and multimedia into your own ArcGIS StoryMaps
As part of the GeoBridge community, we are organizing a two-day hands-on workshop on ArcGIS StoryMaps, a powerful approach for communicating research through interactive maps and visual narratives. StoryMaps allow you to combine maps, spatial data, images, and multimedia to present complex environmental data in an accessible and engaging way. This workshop focuses on translating spatial analyses into compelling visual narratives, bridging the gap between data, interpretation, and communication.
During the workshop, participants will learn how to design and build their own StoryMaps using ArcGIS StoryMaps, with a focus on effectively translating spatial analyses into compelling visual narratives.
This workshop is ideal for researchers, technicians and students interested in visualizing geospatial analyses, communicating research results, and developing interactive scientific storytelling tools.
The workshop will be led by Stacy Shinneman (University of Amsterdam), who has extensive experience in developing StoryMaps for environmental research and science communication. Examples of StoryMaps developed by Stacy Shinneman are:
