Kenneth Rijsdijk
Kenneth Rijsdijk

Assistant professor in Quaternary Geology and Biogeography affiliated with the Biogeography and Macroecology research group withing the Department of Theoretical and Computational Ecology in the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics at the University of Amsterdam. Dr. Kenneth Rijsdijk's research interests include:

  • How landscape dynamics affects ecosystems and evolutionary processes.
  • Islands, nature reserves and connectivity in the agricultural landscapes.
  • How human induced landscape change exceeds the rates of natural landscape dynamics.
  • How we can harmonise humans actions in the landscape with nature.
  • +Actionable Research Agenda, towards a net positive and accountable effect for nature in all his projects.
  • GIS, remote sensing, LiDAR and spatial modelling (TABS) to analyse the landscape.
